I always love to follow trends each season because there is always a clear front runner that is just sweeping the fashion world by storm. This summer, that item is straw bags. If you haven’t seen the below Gaia’s Ark Bag on EVERY SINGLE PERSONS Instagram page, you’ve clearly been living under a rock.
You can shop it by clicking the picture above OR snag another straw bag (that hopefully every single person doesn’t already own) by shopping my favorite picks below. From beach bags to clutches, there’s something for everyone and every occasion. Plus, the bags are in an assortment of price ranges from $19-$300, so make sure to check all of them out to find one that fits your needs.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, blogging has brought me so many amazing opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone. Living in New York City, I’ve always had a little “NYC Bucket list” and one of the things I always wanted to do was walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Seems simple enough, right? Yet, I never wound up crossing it off my list and making it happen – until yesterday.
I woke up at 6am to get ready for a 7am call time (although I admit I was a bit late) and met a new photographer at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge on the corner of Tillary and Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard. We captured photos all along the bridge and I soon realized that I was already half way back to Manhattan, so decided to walk the rest of the way back, then hop on a subway to my day job. And just like that – I walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Had it not been for that schedule photo shoot, I may have never crossed it off my list.
So for those of you that don’t have a blog to kick you in the butt and make you do things you’ve always wanted to – here’s my reminder to you to go out and do them anyway! You won’t regret it.
So by now, everyone and I mean everyone should know the stripe rule. If you don’t, please listen carefully. There’s an old “tale” about how to wear stripes in a flattering way. Legend has it that horizontal (across) stripes can make you look much bigger than you actually are. However, vertical (up & down) stripes are known to make you look taller and even leaner. Is there truth to this? Know one really knows. I guess it’s up to you to decided how you feel in striped ensembles. For me, I choose to stick to it. I can’t risk a fashion fail…
So when I came across these B&W striped flare pants, I knew they needed to be mine. Who doesn’t want #LegsForDays?! While I couldn’t link to the actual pair, you can mimic my look for less (linked above). Plus, how cute are these barely-there pumps?
I feel like I blinked and Memorial Day Weekend is here. This kick-off of warmer weather somehow always winds up being the hardest of the summer holidays to dress for. You never quite know what you’re going to get – sun, rain, high winds – you name it! For me, I like to still look in season (bright colors, florals, etc.), yet like to keep warm if needed.
The dress I’m wearing (pictured above) is the perfect transitional piece for this time of year. It’s casual, comfortable and perfect for a BBQ. Plus, I’ve been noticing the stripe/flower trend a lot in stores lately. Below, I’ve linked to some similar items.
PS. Can you believe these Birkenstocks are only $34!!
As mentioned in the title, this post is all about two brands that I seriously can’t get enough of – Ramy Brook & Kat Maconie. As you all know, my favorite type of outfit is one where you look dressed up but feel like you’re in sweats (lol). Who doesn’t love that type of look?!
Ramy Brook delivers on both fronts. All of the brand’s items are super soft and high quality, yet fit amazing and feel super light on. Nothing is worse than being stuck in a stiff outfit all day. Plus, these Kat Maconie heels may look high, but are totally wearable and comfy. Both of these brands are definitely worth splurging on because you’ll feel amazing wearing them!
